Caitlynn Filla is a wildlife ecologist and PhD candidate in the Department of Anthropology. Her work focuses on exploring the role of ecotourism in spreading antimicrobial resistance to critically endangered lemur populations in one of Madagascar’s most popular national parks. She also works closely with The Mad Dog Initiative, a Malagasy conservation NGO, to help bring veterinary care and One Health interventions to rural communities. When she is not chasing lemurs through the forest she loves reading, rock climbing, and hanging out with her own furry pets.
