Conference:

  • Teaching in the Age of AI
    The University Writing Program at the University of Florida invites you to submit a proposal on any topic at the intersection of teaching, writing, and artificial intelligence. Since AI is already influencing our work today, and the future looks interesting, let’s have a conversation about it.

Workshop:

  • The UWP develops and offers workshops that introduce students to tactics for planning, writing, and revising their papers. We can help students use AI as a mode of writing to honor their skills and develop polished, clear, and highly efficient prose.

Podcast:

  • Listen to the episode of “Write to the Point” where six educators share their insight into teaching writing alongside AI. With varying attitudes–from enthusiasm to skepticism–these university teachers offer perspectives that cut beyond the obvious on facilitating the use of ChatGPT in the classroom.
  • Listen to the episode of “Artificial Intelligence Minute from the University of Florida” which covers UWP professor, Zea Miller, and how he uses AI in his courses. By embracing AI as a tool to combine with one’s own creativity, Miller is showing student that AI is a resource for writing both academically and professionally.

  • The Journal of Writing and Artificial Intelligence is an initiative of the UWP which focuses on the today and tomorrow, what’s possible, and the people and platforms that make it. Articles in the jwAi examine topics in AI, academic, and professional writing.

  • We are offering a writing course which covers Writing in Artificial Intelligence in Spring 2025.
