To staff its courses, the UWP appoints Lecturers, Adjunct Lecturers, and Teaching Assistants. We welcome inquiries from prospective teachers and keep applications on file for consideration during subsequent semesters.
Because appointments are semesterly and because the UWP offers at least 215 sections each year, assigning classes is an ongoing process, so feel free to ask for information and updates if you are unclear about your application or employment status.
Every effort is made to consider your schedule when we make your appointment. The earlier in the process we know your schedule, the more likely it is that we can give you a workable time slot.
Teaching assistants are typically assigned by recommendation from their academic departments, though the main criterion for employment or renewal of employment at any level is evidence of effective teaching.
