The University generates your class roll and an email listserv automatically. Both are available through the MyUFL website.
The automatically generated listserv has the advantage of being updated as your roll changes with drop and add. Because it is keyed to the roll, you can even send your students a welcome message before the first day of class, a good idea to get things off to a quick start.
The listserv contains only your students’ UF email addresses, so you will have to tell your students to check their UF email accounts. Though some students will want to maintain a personal commercial email account, they should be using their UF account for their academic work to ensure that you are able to communicate with them without interruption.
