Student Spotlight

  • Junior Engineering student, Kenza Iddir, conducting research on the intersection of engineering and design, has situated counter-pressure spacesuit technology “as the suit of the future that will not separate the explorer from space—it will make space livable through the language of movement itself” (p. 2). Using her research developed in Don Moore’s ENC 2256 Writing in the Disciplines course, Kenza created a presentation of her research and experiments to win a $10,000 scholarship competition offered through the Fashion Scholarship Fund proving that writing in the classroom doesn’t have to stay in the classroom to satisfy a grade or meet a requirement. The writing that students complete in class can be used for scholarships, internships, conference proposals, further research, possible publications, and more!
