Your Contract or Letter of Appointment

Teaching Assistants and Adjunct Lecturers are employed by the UWP for the term of one semester, with renewal in subsequent semesters subject to performance and funding.

During the semester prior to employment, prospective teachers will receive, typically by email, an offer to teach a particular section. Once a time slot is agreed upon and all positions are filled, you will sign a contract, which defines the responsibilities of the employee and the program. This contract takes the form of, and is sometimes referred to as, your letter of appointment.
